16, 18, 20 Marischal Street, Aberdeen

16, 18, and 20 Marischal Street in Aberdeen is a later 18th century, three-storey townhouse with an attic, featuring a symmetrical classical design and shops on the ground floor. It is built from Loanhead granite ashlar with raised margins and has a moulded cornice. The central bays have three timber doorways with rectangular fanlights above them. The outer bays contain large fixed-pane windows, and there is a bracketed timber fascia between the ground and first floors.

The first and second floors have 12-pane timber sash and case windows, while the attic features a three-window mansarded dormer. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there is an ashlar coped skew at the left gable, along with a coped granite ashlar stack and clay cans.

The interior was partly seen in 2006, with commercial premises located at Nos 16 and 20, while upper floor flats are accessed from No 18.
