Description

142 King Street in Aberdeen is a former villa and office building designed by John Smith before 1828. This two-storey and attic structure features a two-bay Classical style with a prominent central porch supported by fluted Doric columns and a pedimented blocking course. Access is provided through a round-arched pend on King Street, which leads to a small cobbled courtyard. The exterior is finished with wet harl and includes piended dormers. There is a large extension added to the south in the late 20th century, and the building has been used as a social club since 2006.

The building has some four-pane timber sash and case windows, while others have been boarded up. The roof is covered with grey slate, and there are gable stacks.

The interior was not inspected during the 2006 resurvey but is believed to have been modernised.
