Description
82, 84, and 86 King Street in Aberdeen is a Classical tenement row built before 1828. It is three stories tall with an attic and features nine and eight bays, located on a corner site with shops on the ground floor and the main façade facing King Street to the west. A distinctive triangular cyma recta detail is present above the entrance at the northern corner. The building is constructed from coursed granite rubble and includes an eaves band. There is a continuous timber consoled fascia above the shops, with four and six-panel timber entrance doors leading to the flats above. The northern elevation has a segmental arched pend opening, and there are later attic dormers added. The windows are predominantly 12-pane timber sash and case, with later plate glass used in the shops. The roof is covered with grey slates and features raised skews, a coped gable, and ridge stacks.
