Description
136, 138, and 140 King Street in Aberdeen is an early 19th-century, three-storey and attic Classical tenement that includes shops on the ground floor. The building is constructed from grey granite ashlar, featuring some raised cill margins, a channelled finish at the ground level, and rubble at the rear. The ground floor has round-arched openings, with an impost course and a band course separating the ground and first storeys. The central entrance door leads to the flats, flanked by a pair of symmetrical shops.
The upper storeys predominantly feature 12-pane timber sash and case windows. The ground floor windows have a combination of plate glass and a multi-pane glazing pattern, complemented by fanlight glazing details. The roof is covered with grey slate, and there are gable stacks and raised skews.
