Description

This mid-19th century warehouse, located at 60 Frederick Street, is a three-storey building with an attic and features a tall M-gabled design. It was originally a granary and has been used as commercial premises since 2006. The main facade faces Frederick Street to the north and is constructed from snecked, coursed granite rubble. The building has regularly spaced rectangular window openings, some of which have been infilled. On the north elevation, there is a two-leaf timber entrance door to the left, which has a multi-paned fanlight above it, along with a commemorative plaque to the right. There are later 20th-century extensions to the east and west.

The street-facing elevation predominantly features 12-pane timber sash and case windows, while the rear has replacement windows. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are cast-iron rainwater goods. Small coped stacks are present at the gable apices on the north side.

Inside, the original floor plan is largely intact. The interior includes timber flooring supported by plated, flanged cast-iron columns that hold up the timber joists. There is also a lift and lift shaft to the east, equipped with metal concertina doors.
