Description

Reeds Wharf B Warehouse is a mid-19th century granary, now partially converted into studio, residential, and storage spaces. Built of stock brick with a rebuilt coped parapet, the building is slightly convex to the street, extending over five stories and seven bays. The ground floor has been altered, featuring various irregular openings, some with timber lintels and others with segmental brick arches. An archway to the left provides access to the site of the former Mill Stairs. The upper floors retain two hatch ranks, with two-light windows set in deep reveals, each featuring gauged brick segmental arches. The river-facing elevation mirrors these details, also exhibiting two hatch ranks. The interior contains timber floors and posts. The warehouse closes a view along Mill Street and is an important component of the surrounding group, including New Concordia Wharf and St Saviour's Wharf.
