25 Canmore Street, Dunfermline

25 Canmore Street in Dunfermline is a detached villa built around 1860, now used as offices. This two-storey building features a basement and has a rectangular plan. Its classical design includes a pilastered porch and corniced windows on the ground floor of the main (north) elevation. The principal elevation is finished in polished ashlar, while the rest of the building is made of coursed rough-dressed sandstone with ashlar dressings. There is a base course at the ground floor and an eaves cornice, with architraved windows and V-jointed angle quoins on the main block.

On the north elevation, the entrance features an 8-panel timber door set in a moulded surround leading to a central porch. Pilasters at the corners support an entablature with a dentilled cornice. There are narrow round-arched windows on the left and right returns, with a window above and one on either side on the ground and first floors, all framed with moulded architraves. The first-floor windows have lugged architraves.

The east elevation is blank, while the west elevation has a centrally located architraved entrance with a 6-panel timber door and a narrow window to the left, along with a round-arched window above.

The building mainly features 10-pane timber sash and case windows, along with lying pane windows. The roof is covered with grey slate and has a piended design. There is a corniced wallhead stack with flanking outer flues on both the east and west sides, topped with octagonal or round cans. The interior was not inspected in 1998.
