Description
This building, located at 40, 41, and 41A Castle Street in Aberdeen, dates from the late 18th or early 19th century. It is a three-storey and attic, four-bay Classical tenement constructed of granite ashlar, with rubble at the rear. The upper storeys feature moulded, raised architraves, and there is a moulded eaves course. The building has a pair of piended dormers and an off-centre entrance that includes a multi-panelled timber door. The ground floor openings are wider than those on the first and second floors.
The windows are predominantly four-pane timber sash and case. The roof is a mansard style covered with grey slates, and there are gable stacks and raised skews. The building also features cast iron rainwater goods.
