55, 56, 57 Castle Street, Aberdeen

55, 56, and 57 Castle Street in Aberdeen is an early 19th-century, three-storey and attic, three-bay Classical tenement that includes a public house on the ground floor. The building features a keystoned round-arched pend opening on the far left. It is constructed from grey granite ashlar, with rubble at the rear, and has an eaves band and a pair of bowed dormers.

On the Castle Street (north) elevation, the ground floor has round-arched openings in the outer bays, which flank the central public house that has a timber fascia. The opening to the left leads to the pend, while the one on the right contains a six-panel timber entrance door with an astragalled glazed fanlight above.

The upper storeys predominantly have 12-pane timber sash and case windows, while the ground floor features plate glass. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are gable stacks.
