Description
The pump, likely constructed between 1900 and 1919, was situated at a road junction in Mullaghglass, Bessbrook, County Armagh. It was of plain design, featuring three encircling bands, a lion motif, and an indecipherable inscription attributed to J Evans. The pump was located near a later fountain. Although not depicted on Ordnance Survey maps from 1906 or 1956, it was presumably in use between those dates. The pump has since been removed, likely around 2004, and is therefore no longer eligible for listing. It possesses industrial archaeological interest. Further details are documented in the Environment Heritage Service report "Water Pumps in Northern Ireland: A Preliminary Survey" by Fred Hammond (January 1997), referenced as Pump No. 17.
