Pump outside Weighbridge House, Main Street, Sixmilecross, Omagh, Co Tyrone

This is one of a group of public water fountains in Sixmilecross, serving as a reminder of a time when the only readily available drinking water came from public sources. The pump, dating from between 1900 and 1919, features a plain, shaped, and fluted column topped with an acorn finial and a lion's mouth spout. The column is inscribed with the name "Glenfield & Kennedy Ltd, Kilmarnock." Water troughs were marked along the street on Ordnance Survey maps from 1906 and 1937, though the pumps themselves are not explicitly noted on those maps. This pump is of industrial archaeological interest and contributes to the group value of the surrounding area.
