Fountain outside 46 Main Street, Sixmilecross, Omagh, Co. Tyrone

This is a public water fountain located outside 46 Main Street, Sixmilecross, County Tyrone. Dating from between 1900 and 1919, it serves as a reminder of a time when public sources were the primary means of obtaining drinking water.

The fountain features a plain, shaped, and fluted column topped with a lion's mouth spout and an acorn finial. The column is inscribed with the makers' name “Glenfield & Kennedy Ltd, Kilmarnock.” Water troughs were present along the street, as shown on Ordnance Survey maps from 1906 and 1937, although pumps were not specifically marked.
