Fountain outside 29 Main Street, Sixmilecross, Omagh, Co. Tyrone

This public water fountain, dating from between 1900 and 1919, is one of a group of such structures in Sixmilecross, serving as a relic of a time when public water pumps provided the primary source of drinking water. The fountain features a plain, shaped, fluted column topped with an acorn finial and a lion's mouth spout to dispense water. Inscribed on the column are the words "Glenfield & Kennedy Td/Kilmarnock". Water troughs are indicated on Ordnance Survey maps from 1906 and 1937, although no pumps themselves are specifically labelled. This fountain has industrial archaeological interest and contributes to the local social and cultural heritage, demonstrating local importance. It retains its original function and is owned by the local government.
