Fountain, Outside 30 Main Street, Sixmilecross, Omagh, Co. Tyrone

This is a public water fountain, dating from between 1900 and 1919, located outside 30 Main Street, Sixmilecross, County Tyrone. It is one of a small group of public water fountains in the village, serving as a tangible reminder of the time when the only source of drinking water was a public pump.

The fountain consists of a plain, fluted column topped with a lion's mouth spout from which water flows. The column is inscribed with the words 'Glenfield & Kennedy Ld / Kilmarnock', indicating the manufacturer. Water troughs were formerly located along the street, as shown on Ordnance Survey maps from 1906 and 1937, although no pumps are explicitly marked.
