Pump sited opposite 124 Mullaghboy Road, Bellaghy, Magherafelt, Co Londonderry

A cow tail closed lever pump and water trough were originally situated opposite 124 Mullaghboy Road, Bellaghy, Magherafelt, County Londonderry. Constructed between 1900 and 1919, the pump featured a plain, spirally decorated column and was originally capped, although the cap was missing when last inspected in August 1995. An inscription reading 'A Clyde, Ballymana' surrounded the head of the column. The pump stood within a roadside alcove, with a cast iron water trough positioned in front. The pump was not recorded on the 1905 Ordnance Survey map, but does appear on the 1927 edition. It was stolen around 2002, and the trough was also removed. The structure is of industrial archaeological interest.
