Pump on the Cushendun Road, Cushendall, Co. Antrim

This water pump, located on the Cushendun Road in Cushendall, County Antrim, dates to between 1920 and 1939. It is a cow tail closed head lever type pump with a plain, spirally decorated column and a fluted cap. The pump is partially demolished and sits within a roadside alcove close to a group of three semi-detached houses. It was not shown on the Ordnance Survey map of 1903, but appears on the 1920 edition. The pump is currently recorded as derelict and is considered to be of industrial archaeological interest, but is not listed due to its incomplete state and the presence of better-preserved examples elsewhere.
