Description

Right one of a pair of two and a half storey/ three bay houses, sea facing on N side of Seaview. Although the overall composition is symmetrical, this house is one bay wider. Pitched natural slate roof with two rendered chimneystacks - one on the right gable and one between the first and second bays from left. There are three wall-head dormers to front pitch (see later). Corbelled eaves course supports moulded cast-iron gutters, which drain into secondary gutter running beneath the cill level of the attic windows. Walls are rendered and unpainted with raised cill course running under the first floor windows. Front elevation faces S. Its ground floor right bay is abutted to front by a single-storey entrance porch accessed by five concrete steps. Its flat roof is concealed by a moulded cornice with mutules. Walls are rendered, band-rusticated and unpainted and have a chamfered basecourse. Its left (W) cheek has a narrow segmental-headed 1/1 sliding sash window. The front cheek has a modern uPVC door with margin-paned semicircular fanlight over. The right (E) cheek of porch is blank. Ground floor left bay has a tripartite window with moulded shouldered and eared architrave. Its centre window is a 2/2 (vertically divided) sliding sash flanked by narrower 1/1 sashes. To its left is an infilled carriageway (ghost lines of the voussoirs can be seen). It contains a narrow 2/2 sliding sash window with moulded, shouldered and eared architrave and keyblock. First floor is three windows wide. Those to centre and left are tripartite (as ground floor windows) and that to right is a 2/2 sash. All windows have pediment topped architraves on foliated console brackets. The central pediment is segmental. The attic level has three wall-head dormers, with mutule-cills and pedimented heads. All have single 2/2 sliding sash windows. The central pediment is segmental. Left gable is abutted by adjoining building 23 Seaview HB16/12/018C. Rear elevation was not inspected. Right gable is abutted by adjoining building 25 Seaview (HB16/12/018E). Small front garden is enclosed by a rendered wall with concrete copings.
