Description

This is a three-story, two-bay terrace house dating to the late 19th century, located on the northwest side of Seaview in Warrenpoint, County Down. It forms part of a terrace of six similar houses along the seafront. The house has been altered and modernized, meaning it is not considered to be of special architectural or historic interest.

The house is the third from the right end of the terrace. It features a pitched natural slate roof with a brick chimney on the right-hand side. The eaves overhang and feature moulded details and plastic gutters. The front wall is rendered and painted, with continuous moulded cill courses to the upper floors. The left bay is narrower than the right, and contains the main entrance within a semi-elliptical headed opening. The entrance has a modern six-panelled door with glazed sidelights and aprons, flanked by consoles supporting a timber entablature below a plain fanlight. Above the entrance is a modern top-hung timber window on each of the upper floors, with the second-floor window slightly reduced in height. The right bay features a full-height canted bay window with a matching natural slate roof that ties into the main roof and shares common eaves. Each face of the bay window has a modern top-hung timber window; the side windows are narrower than the front window, and those on the second floor are slightly reduced in height. A rendered dwarf wall and hedge enclose the front garden, with a modern gate providing access. The left gable wall forms a party wall with number 15 Seaview, and the right gable wall is a party wall with number 17 Seaview. The rear elevation was not inspected.

The house appears in the Valuation revision book entry of 1878, alongside number 15. It was the middle pair of houses in the terrace; the first pair (numbers 17 and 18) were built in 1877, and the last pair (numbers 13 and 14) were completed in 1880. The house was delisted on January 14, 1998.
