Description
No. 45 is a cottage located on Higher Street in West Chinnock. It is possibly from the 17th century and has undergone significant modifications. The building is constructed from local stone that has been cut and squared, featuring flat stone dressings, and it has a Welsh slate roof with coped gables and brick chimney stacks at each end. The cottage is two stories high and has three bays. The ground floor includes four-light hollow chamfered mullioned windows in the first and third bays, with a chamfered cambered arched doorway situated between them. A continuous label runs above all three openings, raised over the doorway. On the upper floor, there are three-light steel casement windows. The cottage is attached to No. 42 on its south side, which is not included in the listing.
