Description
Tree Cottage is a cottage that likely dates back to the 17th century and has been modified over time. It is built from local stone rubble with Ham stone dressings and features a thatched roof with coped gables. The cottage has one storey with an attic and consists of four bays.
The front includes a hollow chamfer mullioned three-light window with a label above the lower bay, and leaded three-light casements in the first and third bays. There is a part-glazed panelled door located under a stone hood supported by corbel brackets between these bays. Above the third and fourth bays, there are three-light casements with single horizontal glazing bars set into the thatch.
While the rear and interior have not been seen, a report from June 1982 mentions a rear extension that includes a further two-light mullioned window. Inside, there are unstopped chamfered beams and some fielded panel work. The cottage is attached on the south side to Yeoman's Wake Cottage, which is not included in this listing.
