WEST CHINNOCK CP SCOTTS WAY (North side) ST41SE 3/235 West Chinnock Church of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School, with its boundary wall - and railings

School. Early C19. Ham stone rubble with ashlar dressings; Welsh slate roofs between coped gables. Main block of 2-storeys, 2-bays with single storey 2-bay wing on West side. Two-light mullioned windows with 4-centre arched heads to lights having recessed spandrils and labels over, the ground floor windows being taller; entrance between bays -1 and -2 main block obscured by C20 porch/lobby: above entrance stone plaque reading "Church School 1833". On East gable a first floor doorway, boarded and studded, in cambered arched recess, with the school bell on bracket over; below a C20 lean-to, Near-ashlar stone front boundary wall, returning to building side and rear, varying from 0.75 metre to 1.6 metre high, with square, ornamental capped piers and simple wrought iron railings 600mm high having scroll braces and some anthemion finials.
