Description
Manor Farm House is a cottage, dated 1673, with possible earlier origins. It's constructed from local stone, cut and squared, with Ham stone dressings, and has a thatched roof with a coped north gable. Brick chimney stacks are at each end. The building is two storeys high and originally had four bays. It features hollow-chamfered mullioned windows: a two-light window to the lower bay three, a three-light window to bay four, set within a coped gable with a finial; a three-light casement with a segmental arch over the lower bay one; and two-light leaded casements in the upper bays one and two. The doorway, in bay two, has a cambered arch with the inscription "P. P. E, 1673" carved into the lintel, and is now within a modern timber and thatched porch. High, single-storey extensions with Welsh slate roofs extend from the north and south ends, each with a two-light casement window. An unpublished report from January 1983 mentions an interior with chamfered spine beams featuring step and run-out stops, two stone-surround fireplaces, and smoke-blackened collar-beam trusses. The building retains group value.
