Description
Woodforde Cottage is a detached house dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of roughly coursed Cary stone rubble and features a double Roman clay tile roof with coped gables and brick end chimney stacks. The house is two storeys high and has three bays. The windows are timber casements with leaded glass and opening iron-framed lights, consisting of three-light windows in the outer bays and a two-light window in the upper centre. A 20th-century projecting stone gabled porch is located at the centre bay, which has a boarded door. There is a rendered lean-to against the west gable. The interior has not been seen, and there is no known special connection between this house and the celebrated local 18th-century diarist Parson Woodforde.
