Description
Greenhills is a semi-detached house that was formerly known as the Half Moon Inn and is now a guest house. It dates from the late 18th century and is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, featuring Doulting stone dressings. The building has a hipped roof covered with triple roll clay tiles and brick chimney stacks at each end.
It stands two storeys high and has three bays. The exterior includes an ashlar plinth and quoins, with 16-pane sash windows set beneath flat voussoired brick arches that have keystones. The central entrance features a part-glazed panelled door, accessed by three steps, and is framed by a plain surround topped with a flat stone hood supported by simple brackets. The interior has not been seen.
Attached to the south side of Greenhills is Half Moon House, and together with Hill House, they create a notable group of buildings.
