Description

Half Moon House is an early 19th-century semi-detached house located in Ansford, Compton Martin. The building is constructed of Cary stone rubble with brick window surrounds and Doulting ashlar quoins, topped with a hipped roof covered in triple-roll clay tiles. There are brick chimney stacks. The house has two storeys and two bays. The lower-floor windows are sash windows with 16 panes, while the upper-floor windows are 3-light horizontal bar casement windows, all with keystoned, brick flat-arched heads. A 6-panel door is set within a plain ashlar surround, sheltered by a flat stone hood supported on simple brackets. The interior has not been inspected. It is situated alongside Greenhills Guest House and Hill House, forming a notable group of buildings.
