Description
The monument to John Selway is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 10 metres south of the south aisle of the Church of St Nicholas. It dates from the early to mid-18th century. The tomb features a classic panelled design on a moulded plinth, with corner pilasters and a central pilaster on both the north and south sides. It has a hipped top that is moulded around its outer edge. The inscriptions on the north and south sides have significantly decayed over time, and there is a later 19th-century tablet inserted at the east end that contains additional inscriptions.
