Group Of Farm Buildings About 12 Metres West Of Manor Farmhouse

This group of farm buildings, located about 12 meters west of Manor Farmhouse, dates back to the 18th century. The structures are built from coursed rubble of Ham stone, with some ashlar dressings, and feature a plain clay tiled roof over stone slate base courses, all arranged in a U-plan layout.

The north wing serves as a barn and is two stories tall with five bays. There is a band course between the floors, with the upper floor being taller than the lower. The second and fourth bays have 3-centred archways with plain doors, while the third bay on the upper floor features a segmental arched doorway. Additionally, there is another segmental arched opening at the lower level on the east gable.

The west range is a single-storey byre with seven bays, topped by a triple roll clay tiled roof. This roof is supported by plain tie trusses that rest on circular stone columns with square bases, which have rough cushion-type capitals.

The south wing functions as a waggon shed, featuring a double Roman clay tiled roof on a double collar truss frame, hipped to both the west and east. The west side has a catslide roof extension, and there are lean-to buildings on both the north and south sides, each with small openings flanking the large waggon opening. This group of buildings forms a cohesive architectural ensemble with Manor Farmhouse.
