Description

Milestone located west of Number 51 Trull Road, dating from the early 19th century. It is a small stone with a segmentally arched head. Embedded in the front is a cast-iron plate featuring a nowy head, which is inscribed with "1 MILE to TAUNTON" in both upper and lower case lettering with serifs. The turnpike from Taunton to Blagdon Hill was established in 1752.
