Description
Milestone, probably from the late 18th century or early 19th century, for the Bristol Turnpike Trust. It is made of freestone and features a triangular head. There is an affixed cast-iron plate that reads: "To/ Bristol ..." although the lower part is buried in the field bank. The Act for this section of the Turnpike was passed in 1726-27.
