Description

This is a milestone from the early 19th century, made of ashlar stone. It stands upright and features a semi-circular head. There is a cast iron plate attached to it, which has a convex-concave shape and reads: "8/MILES/TO/BRISTOL." This milestone was likely erected for the Bristol Turnpike Trust.
