Description
Edney Farm House is a farmhouse dated 1688, constructed from Doulting rubble with squared quoins and a slate roof featuring coped verges on kneelers. The building has rubble stacks with moulded caps and a double pile plan, designed as a lobby entrance house with a symmetrical facade. It stands two storeys high with an attic and consists of four bays. The first floor has two-light ovolo moulded stone mullioned windows, while the ground floor features similar three-light openings with labels. The central door opening is framed by a chamfered stone surround and has a 20th-century panelled door, along with a projecting 20th-century gabled rubble porch. A stone plaque above the door is inscribed with "R.W.A. 1688". There is a fireplace window on the ground floor of the right return, and above it, a two-light stone mullioned attic window. The left return has a similar opening with a casement. Inside, the left-hand room on the front of the ground floor has a broad fireplace with a chamfered wooden lintel and chamfered beams in the ceiling.
