Description

The garden boundary walls enclosing the frontage of Mells Manor date from the 17th century and extend 76 meters to the north and 75 meters to the east. They are 3 meters high and constructed of Doulting rubble. The northern wall features eight half-round buttresses without capitals and a central depressed arch door opening, which contains a studded plank door with strap hinges. Above this door is a stone plaque depicting a talbot. The wall running eastward includes a 4-centred door opening with a stone surround and a plank door.
