Description

This is a cottage located to the rear of No 4 New Street in Mells, dating from around 1800. It is constructed from Doulting rubble with rough quoins and features a stone tile roof and a brick ridge stack. The cottage is two stories high and has four bays with irregular window placements. It includes two and three-light bead moulded stone mullioned windows with leaded lights, and the left two bays have labels above them. The upper storey has a 12-pane sash window set in a brick reveal to the left. The door opening is nearly central and features a glazed plank door. There is also a pent roofed outshut at right angles to the rear, which connects to No 4 New Street.
