Description

Rose Cottage is an 18th-century cottage located on Pendomer Road in Closworth. It is constructed from rubble with exposed timber lintels and features a thatched roof with coping on the west gable. The cottage is two stories tall and has three bays. The windows are leaded casements, with a three-light window on the ground floor and two-light windows in the first and third bays above. There is a plain boarded door in a heavy frame in the second bay. A lean-to is present on the east side, and the south side has a thatched porch along with 20th-century casement windows. Inside, the cottage has seen little change, retaining a plank and muntin partition, an original staircase that is likely cased, and two gable fireplaces that are blocked but have surviving beams overhead.
