Description

This is a 19th-century guidepost located at the junction on the north side of Moor Lane in Hardington Mandeville. It is made of cast iron and features a standard diameter post with three cast collars and a conical cap. The directional arms of the signpost have double beaded edges and double reverse curve finger ends. The arms display cast debased lettering indicating directions to Hardington and Yeovil, although no mileages are provided. This guidepost is noted as a rare survival of a sign that predates the Somerset County Council.
