Description
Brook Mead is a cottage with origins dating to the 17th century. It is constructed of local stone rubble with dressings in Ham stone and has a thatched roof. The cottage originally had four bays, though a C20 angled bay with sash windows and a tiled roof has been added to the first bay. A C20 door is located in the second bay, sheltered by a tiled hood. The third and fourth bays feature hollow-chamfered mullioned windows of three lights, all sharing a single lintel. Modern casements with horizontal glazing bars are set into the thatch above bays one and two, and above bays three and four. Brick chimney stacks are located at the ends and in the centre of the roof. The cottage is attached to The Cottage on its eastern side.
