Description
Weavers Cottage is a cottage, formerly two cottages, that likely dates from the 18th century. It is constructed of local stone rubble and has a whitewashed thatched roof, with brick chimney stacks at either end. The building has a T-shaped plan, with a modern extension at the rear. It is a single-storey structure with an attic and features six bays. The cottage has casement windows with exposed timber lintels, and there is a thatched stone porch at bay 3. Above this porch, there are low set windows at bays 1 and 2, and into the thatch over bay 4. Inside, the cottage includes chamfered crossbeams with single run-off stops, one 18th-century fireplace that has been partly adapted, collar trussed rafters, and the southern bays are set slightly higher, featuring quartered and rough sawn timbers.
