II Guide Post. Dated 1910 on trade plate of Richards & Son, Leicester. Cast iron. Tall circular column has ribbed and fluted designs; 2 direction arms have shaped ends with cast letters to left BOON HILL ¼ MILE and in small letters on right arm TALKIN 1 MILE/CASTLE CARROCK 2½ MILES. Cast letters on column POST NO BILLS and on base 108. Most of these early guide posts were replaced in the 1920s and 30s by Cumberland County Council posts.
