  1. Includes Nos 22 and 23 Paul Street. Circa 1830. Coursed and dressed rubble. Bracketted eaves. No 8 has horizontal quoins to left. 3 storeys, 2 windows each, sashes with glazing bars, plain architraves. Shop-fronts to ground floor, con- temporary with modillions and panelled pilasters to fascia, braced corners to windows. To left of each is a pair of segmental openings, No 8 blocked and a modern shop window inserted, No 9 has 2 glazing bar sash windows, the right-hand one formerly a door. No 9 has chamfered corner with shop entrance and 1 bay return; steps up to Paul Street side (these houses numbered 22 and 23 Paul Street at rear. Raised pavement next to steps where Paul Street is raised above Catherine Hill.
