Description
The properties at 40 and 42 Magdalene Street date from the early to mid-19th century. They are a three-storey building constructed of red brick and feature an eaves cornice and a pantile roof. There are three windows on each floor, each with a keystone above. The windows are sash windows in plain reveals, with glazing bars. The ground floor of number 42 has a shop window to the left and a half-glazed door with a fanlight. Number 40 has a single sash window and a doorway to the right, leading to a half-glazed door flanked by painted panels. These properties contribute to the group value of numbers 40 to 50 (even) on Magdalene Street.
