The Gate Piers, Gates And Railings, 25 Metres South Of Brewham House

The gate piers, gates, and railings located 25 metres south of Brewham House date from the 19th century. They consist of two sets of gate piers made from Bath stone ashlar, along with cast iron railings and gates. The total length of the boundary is approximately 32 metres. The gate piers measure about 500 millimetres square and stand 2.25 metres high, featuring a plinth and somewhat crude cap mouldings. The gates and railings are adorned with cast ornamental spearheads, rosettes, and additional spearheads on the middle rails of the gates, which are single to the west and double to the east. The railings are set on a very low stone base and include occasional scroll braces. While these features complement the setting of Brewham House, they present an oddly urban appearance in a predominantly rural environment.
