Description
Cook’s Farmhouse is a farmhouse with origins in the 17th century. It is built of local stone, rendered on the front, with a high-pitched clay tile roof and brick end chimney stacks. The farmhouse has two storeys and three bays. It features six-pane sash windows and various casement windows, as well as two small hipped dormers in the roof. A rendered porch with a plain doorway sits between bays two and three. A single-story extension with a stone slate roof and a brick end chimney stack is attached to the east side.
Inside, the roof structure comprises arched collar trusses. A semi-circular timber staircase features sole reeded risers. Three 17th-century fireplaces are present; two on the ground floor have been damaged by later additions, while the smaller fireplace in the east bedroom is a well-preserved example. The interior also includes some chamfered beams and several old boarded doors.
