Description
Cockeymoor is a former farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with modifications made in the 18th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of local stone rubble and features concrete double Roman clay tiles beneath coped gables, along with brick end stacks. The building has two storeys and a three-bay west front, which includes 16-pane sash windows set under exposed timber lintels. The central entrance consists of a part-glazed door located within an early 20th-century timber and tiled porch.
Inside, the farmhouse has collar beam trusses, and the sitting room showcases stop-chamfered beams and a fireplace with a timber bressumer, likely from the 17th century. The interior also features early doorframes, although the doors themselves follow an 18th-century pattern. A 20th-century addition has been made to the northeast corner, replacing the former dairy.
