Description
Bridge Cottage is a cottage dated 1811, built from local stone with Bath stone dressings and topped with plain clay tiles between coped gables. It features brick end chimney stacks and stands two storeys high with five bays, of which the first three represent the original house. The cottage has plain ashlar surrounds to 12-pane sash windows and a six-panel door in a plain surround located in bay two. Above the door is a stone plaque with the letters E/IM in a reversed heart shape and the date 1811. There are brick surrounds and a stone staircase leading up to a blocked doorway on the south gable, beneath which is the Washing Place. Additionally, there is a single-storey extension on the north gable made of stone, with a triple roll clay tile roof. The interior has not been seen.
