Description

Street Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse located in Brewham. It is constructed of local stone rubble with dressings of Doulting stone. The roofing is of plain clay tiles, with a brick chimney stack on the east gable. The building is two storeys high with an attic. The front elevation has two wide bays; the first bay is recessed and features stop-chamfered mullioned windows with leaded lights, with four lights on the ground floor and three above. A six-panelled door is set in a plain surround. The second bay projects and has 16-pane sash windows beneath exposed timber lintels. A 20th-century dormer window with two lights is set into the hip roof. The interior, as recorded in a 1982 report, includes stud and panel partitions in the entrance hall, fireplaces, one of which has a bacon curing chamber, and a timber ovolo-mould window in the rear.
