Description

This milestone, located on the A359, dates from the 19th century and is made of Ham stone. It features a pillar that measures 450 millimeters wide, 200 millimeters thick, and 750 millimeters high, with a roughly triangular head. Attached to the pillar is a shaped cast iron plaque that has straight sides and arched top and bottom. The plaque displays the distances in lower case letters, stating "Marston Magna 3, Yeovil 2". This milestone is part of the street furniture established by the Yeovil Turnpike Trust, which was set up in 1753.
