Description
Milestone located on Head Street, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of Ham stone and features a cast iron plaque. The stone measures approximately 370mm by 150mm in height, with a rounded top. The plaque is about 270mm by 210mm overall, with a double curved top, and it reads '5-Yeovil', with the town name set on a curve. This road was never turnpiked, but it has a series of milestones with plates similar to those of the Yeovil Trust.
