Description

This is a milestone located on Yeovil Road, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of Ham stone and features a cast iron plaque. The stone measures approximately 400 millimeters wide, 200 millimeters thick, and 600 millimeters high, with a slightly curved top. The plaque, which measures 270 millimeters by 210 millimeters overall, has a double-curved top and reads '4/Yeovil', with the town name positioned along the curve. Although this road was never turnpiked, it has a series of milestones that have plates similar to those of the Yeovil Trust.
