Description
The south boundary wall to Tintinhull House, located on Farm Street, dates from the 18th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, set on a Ham stone plinth, with angled Ham stone coping. The wall extends approximately 73 meters westward from the house, with a height that varies between 2.5 and 4 meters. To the east, there is a shorter section of wall built in English garden wall bond, standing about 2 meters high. This section features an early 20th-century boarded door and a parcels hatch near the house. It also includes Ham stone ashlar gate piers topped with bell-hip caps, and mid-20th-century wrought iron gates set in quarter-circle concave sweeps. The wall significantly enhances the setting of the important Tintinhull House and its gardens, as well as the overall streetscape.
