Description
This milestone, located 2 metres south of the gateway to Trinity House, dates from the 19th century. It is made of Ham stone and features a shaped cast iron plaque. The pillar measures 450 millimetres wide, 200 millimetres thick, and 750 millimetres high, with a triangular head. The plaque has straight sides and an arched top and bottom, displaying the lower case letters "Marston Magna 2, Yeovil 3". This milestone is part of the street furniture established by the Yeovil Turnpike Trust, which was set up in 1753.
